From Timeshare Executive to Consumer Advocate
For more than 25 years, I’ve worked in the travel, tourism, and timeshare industries. I trained at the International Tour Management Institute in San Francisco, served as a Junior Officer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines aboard the Song of America and Viking Serenade, worked as a Senior Flight Attendant for Northwest Airlines, and later crewed private jets for Fortune 500 companies and high-profile clients. That’s where I learned what real customer service looks like — and I carried it straight into the timeshare industry, where I worked as a licensed sales representative, real estate agent, contracts specialist, trainer, and sales executive, trained directly by RCI and Interval International. I worked throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, helping thousands of families purchase timeshares and vacation club memberships.
I learned how the industry operates from the inside. As Sales and Marketing Director for a luxury resort in Negril, Jamaica, I built and trained a sales team to a 57% closing rate. As a contracts specialist for Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club in the Dominican Republic, I personally reviewed hundreds of villa purchase contracts — some running as high as $100,000 — and caught something most buyers never noticed: contracts signed in the D.R. that quietly named Panama, not the Dominican Republic, as the legal jurisdiction governing the deal.
While many people know the timeshare industry from the outside, I lived it from the inside — at more than twenty resort brands across the Caribbean, Mexico, the U.S., and Canada. This isn’t an exit company running a script, and it isn’t a Reddit thread full of guesses. It’s 25 years in timeshare sales and timeshare cancellations, turned into straight answers for the people it used to sell to.
My Industry Experience
Throughout my career, I held positions that included:
- Licensed Timeshare Real Estate Agent
- Contracts Specialist
- Vacation Ownership Counselor
- Sales Trainer
- Sales Manager
- Director of Sales & Marketing
I worked with owners at every stage of the ownership journey, from the initial presentation through contract execution and ongoing ownership — at resort brands including Melia, Bahia Principe, Occidental Vacation Club, Wyndham Bluebeard’s Castle Resort in St. Thomas, Azul Sensatori Resort and Unlimited Vacation Club in Jamaica, Royal Sands Resort and Royal Haciendas Resort in Cancun, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, Solmar Resort, Montecristo Resorts, Playa Grande Resort & Spa, and Villas del Palmar in Cabo San Lucas, Split Rock Resort in the Poconos, Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico, Polo Club, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Epic Resorts, and Sunterra Resorts in Las Vegas, and Intrawest in Whistler, Canada.
Certified Trainer
As a certified Train the Trainer, I bring more than just industry knowledge to my work — I bring the skills to teach it clearly. That certification is built on organization, clarity, active listening, adaptability, and structured feedback, the same principles I use in every course, article, and cancellation guide I create. It’s not enough to know something yourself; you have to be able to hand that knowledge to someone else in a way they can actually use. That’s exactly what I did with my 230+ course students, and it’s what I aim to do with every timeshare owner who reads my work. That includes a formal Train the Trainer Certification Programme (PSMB & SHEQ), which I completed in November 2018.
Why I Changed Directions
Over time, I became increasingly concerned about the information many consumers received during the sales process. I met families who did not fully understand their contracts, owners who believed promises that were never included in writing, and retirees who purchased products they could not comfortably afford.
Rather than remain silent, I chose a different path.
Wayne began helping timeshare owners understand their rights, evaluate their options, and make informed decisions based on facts rather than sales presentations.
